Btw this would be the third grant I've written ever. The first two didnt get picked but they were beasts at 75 pages. This one is coming to that.

There is literally nobody else here who can write to save their lives besides me. Our admin are floundering. Our acting director is childish. Nobody can save us but me 😭😩 I wanna quit fr but I love my team

Idk why but the bad decisions of the three or four previous ppl in positions of power at my work (Directors, admin manager, lead biologist) are now crashing down upon me. The weight of trying to write a grant that sustains a program with staff of 10, 10 livelihoods and families, rests upon me.

Idk why the words partnership scare the sh0t out of these older people forreal, its so annoying and insulting. We are sending back HUNDREDS in f3d funding and youre over here safeguarding these funds like its ur personal bank account, cringe af

Like, we had great convos back then but I'm also uncomfortable by the feeling that this person told me very intimate stories of themselves and....its weird today because now we're just strangers with intimate stories of each other. Idk how to act.

So I smile a small uncomfy smile & pass them by.

Keep in mind, this person works for a MEDICAL CLINIC in the billing department 🥴😵‍💫 like why are you so bad at your job?? Clearly a clock in/clock out type worker.

Anyways I'm going back to my old ag3ncy soon thank gad and taking my team with me hehe

Why so sad? Because. I always dreamt that I'd return back here. This agency rly helped me realize my dreams. I interned here 10+ yrs ago, and the dream of returning one day to work here again & do good pushed me through literal homelessness & hardships I experienced as a 1st gen c0llege kid.

My last ag3ncy, the HR would call ppl the week of their missed paycheck apologizing profusely and saying (and following through!) that they would follow up their papers DAILY. They never liked for folks to miss paychecks bc they knew that meant real consequences. But here?? Diff story, and its sad.

Like the GOV remembers me because he signed my papers last year when I didnt get paid THE 1ST TIME. I was planning a islandwide event, the lead planner, unpaid until the week before it.

And now too?? HFS the adults dont have it togetherrrr man 😩 why does it have to be me

You think it’s a big empty ocean, but it’s full of people with diverse cultures and knowledge who are at the forefront of combatting climate change, even tho they’re barely contributing to climate issues to begin with. Doing damage control for EVERYBODY ELSE.

They are the acting d1rector and yes, my immediate supervisor 🙃 but yes to the ethics training being needed!! Desperately!

They asked (me who started in September and is on a completely diff standalone funding source and is also not a manager in the section) "so how did WE get here?"
