I may be a cynic who refuses to underestimate how all of society will be impacted in the long term, not just by the UKSC judgment, but by the polarisation of our identities(!), but I maintain an unforgivable optimism that more of us care for one another than advertised. Justice requires it. ✊🏽

What’s missing from public coverage is that vilifying and rolling back the rights of trans people is an own goal. If you can’t empathise with trans people, at least ask yourself who benefits from this ‘victory’. All our bodily autonomy is in issue, tied inherently to race, disability, age, the lot!
