This was storytelling perfection capturing the beauty and healing to be found in mundanity. My 14yo daughter loved it too. A life affirming elixir, especially for those starting afresh post divorce.

Picked this up at the big Tesco @chrischibnall.bsky.social. It was brilliant! Loved all the characters and their interwoven lives. I found the sentence structure a bit hard to follow initially, probably because the author writes for TV, but got used to the staccato short sentences. Unputdownable!

I watched this & the obstinacy of man (esp. of my fellow countrymen & women!)is simultaneously a marvel and a tragedy. Beautiful scenery & stellar recreation of perilous mountaineering. Slow moving which was a pleasure with today's info. overload, but the tense music score was a little clichéd.

This was laugh out loud funny along with being pretty gory and macabre at times. A movie worthy character in Dr Fife. I did find extended conversation excerpts a bit tricky to follow. Witty, twisted and nicely cynical.

Enjoyed this. Key takeaway for me is that we are judged against the most farcical of societal expectations. Captures the comforts to be found in the mundanity of life. I read it as affirming of autism as a panacea for the absurd and illogical.

Another excellent absorbing read - great procedural. Lots of interwoven themes which could detract from the plot but instead enhance it skilfully. I hope there's a part 3 coming @nicklouthauthor.bsky.social.

Just finished. Found the characters uninteresting & unappealing (which was partly the point); I think this would be engrossing for a younger age bracket. Found the tension was well-constructed throughout, with clever & emotive descriptions of place. Not my kind of read. #booksky 💙📚

I enjoyed 'The Two Deaths of Ruth Lyle' @nicklouthauthor.bsky.social. I occasionally picture myself as a future author of fiction, & then come across plot weaving like this absolutely beyond the remits of my imagination! Looking forward to more of the series, based in my late stepdad's old haunts.

Finishing this off today, which was a gift. Beautifully presented with gorgeous imagery. Simple guidance for life's daily trials; where I disagreed with the guidance, this gave me the most ability to slow down and reflect why.
