One appliance purchase I have never for one moment regretted…despite being a bit spendy. It’s gotten us through tough times including lockdowns…😊

Marlon Williams last night was just the most incredible experience. Having watched the doco and listened to the album a lot the performance last night was just so soul filling and uplifting. The total joy of a night filled with Waiata Māori.

It has been an excellent comfort food day. Scone from Steam Wand (one of my fave wee cafes) for lunch and Mac n Cheese made by husband for dinner. Grateful for the good things in turbulent times.

Toitū Te Tiriti. I acknowledge and celebrate that my ability to live on this beautiful land land comes from the Treaty. I have an absolute obligation to honour the treaty. I have an obligation to listen and learn and agitate when needed.

It was so good to get out and March for Nature today. Incredible to see so many out in Tāmaki Makaurau telling the govt we don’t want their Fast track bill. And tonight we are meeting friends for dinner who share our political leanings so we can download about the Coalition of c…ts. A good Saturday!

Paula Bennett as Pharmac chair is just crap. Other than that piece of garbage news it’s been a good day. So nice to be able to get out for a walk in the sun without wind. Wintergarden flowers always pretty.

The big 65 today. Weather in Auckland a bit ho hum but we have wine and cheese for lunch and fam dinner tonight. Had a gorgeous meal at Origine with husband last night and drank the yummiest French champagne. (Hid the price from our minds) Grateful to be able to celebrate this milestone. 🥳😊

Back to work for husband next week so a bit of a blowout meal (financially) in the viaduct. Awesome day for it. Meal absolutely lived up to expectations. H has a weakness for brûlée and this was second best ever.

After rain day after day all year in Tāmaki Makaurau in 2023 I am determined not to complain about the heat. On the other hand it really is quite toasty this week. And our closest swimming beach is not swimmable. Thankful for the Domain and a cool tree to sit under. Still happy summer is here. 😎

Happy New Year all. Sunset last night in Napier. We have had the best time in the Hawke’s Bay. The bottles are clinking in their boxes in the boot. Good to drop a little money into this area that has had such a hard time. Heading home tomorrow. The weather has been awesome. 😎

Left a very rainy humid Auckland. Drove through shit loads of rain. Stopped to charge the car at Taupo (a total zoo). Drove through the Esk Valley in sombre mood then arrived to a lovely warm Napier evening. Yummy meal and excellent Hawkes Bay wine. Four nights in this lovely place.

Well I guess we will hear about this right wing coalition govt today or tomorrow. Ugh it’s seeming real now. At least we have blue sky and sun on Auckland. 😎

Have been staying away from social media mostly while on holiday in Melbourne and Perth. It’s been nice staying away from politics for a while. Was so awesome to see family in Perth whom we haven’t seen since 2019. Great weather and visited some lovely spots like Meelup beach.

Husband and I both had hard weeks so we decided a pub meal was in order. Galbraiths. (Which was a library when we lived in Mt Eden with our eldest child). The bar leaners who turned out to be Corp cab drivers were amusing. Their checking out of every young woman who appeared at the bar not amusing.

Decided to get out of the house and away from scrolling for a while. Sought refuge in Krd. Yummy brunch at Fort Greene. Comfort food. Might distract with some housework now.

There was much joy to be had at the Tami Neilson rock n roll revue with the amazing Dinah Lee (how can she be 80) and the Up Dos. Great way to chill out from election angst. And such a treat to find myself seated next to the incomparable @kimtairi.bsky.social looking stunning as always.
