Happy 99th birthday to the man who gave voice to the wild. 🎉

Sir David Attenborough, thank you for a lifetime dedicated to the natural world, and for sharing its story with wisdom, wonder, and grace.

You've inspired generations to fall in love with nature.

“We exist at a time when we are being crunched ever inward…There is a kind of implosive effect of the modern world, and the science and nature writing that I’m prioritizing, and the birding that I do, are all counters to that.” Thank you for your inspiration.
On the cutting room floor is the bit where the host introduced their interview series, The Interview, and I asked how long it took to come up with the name. Anyway, here’s me talking about birds and science and burnout and moving through the world. The photo’s nice! www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/m...

After a LONG week, and longer than normal if you know what I mean, watching this backyard scene is balm.

These two make everything better. They normally just tolerate each other, but every once in awhile I get the sense they also kind of like each other. Busted!

New evening activity for the foreseeable future. Stress & anxiety induced cleaning the heck out of my already pretty clean home. This grout will be gleaming by the weekend. I’m also starting to draw & paint, stay tuned on this. What are you doing differently to take care of your mental health?

This morning I am in awe of absolute titans of thermoregulation. Cardinals, chickadees, red-bellied woodpeckers and more. We have had extreme cold for nearly a week and this morning it’s -7 degrees. Incredible!

This is in honor of Dr. King’s Day yesterday and also why I joined BlueSky. Here we go. Happy to be here.
