Prisons (and jails), a wise person told me years ago, are toxic for everyone in them, people incarcerated and people employed alike. We cannot fix this with punitiveness that spirals into brutality. We need a radical rethinking about how to achieve community safety.

Is there a specific place we should write to call for environmental care as this is developed? I assume that, given the need for lithium as we seek to replace fossil fuel use there is no point is asking how to try and stop extraction altogether...
