"no nazis". A societal delusion that did not turn out to be true and is replicated today by people "pointing out the nuance".

much of the current culture of rememberance came about 20 years after the war ended due to a combination of widespread student protest, international pressure, and one jewish prosecutor actually convicting someone successfully. Until then, a majority of Germans that fought and survived the war were

Today, a widespread phenomena in Germany exists, were most people claim their grandparents did not abet the regime and were part of the regime, when in reality these are rationalisations after the fact and even lies. It is fascinating how most people outside of Germany don't know that

I fully understand, I just wanted to utilise your excellent comment as a jumping off point for a very important lesson I was imbued in my history classes. I am sorry that I did not communicate that clearly.

wipe out 209 cities and 9200 villages together with the SS when retreating from Soviet forces. Basically all of the Wehrmacht, as with the SS were explicitly in support of these bone chilling crimes, even though after the fact everyone did it "just to survive".

A region where a majority of the holocaust took place. The point of taking this nuanced position is akin to the point of the Wehrmacht being the "honorable" soldiers, which "just followed orders" of the despicable SS. But following orders does not excuse the fact that the Wehrmacht did

Instead of the nuanced position that some individuals of an organisation made up of war criminals were forcefully conscripted, suddenly there exists a presumption of innocence for the entirety of SS Units outside of germany, which were mostly active in a specific region,

We cannot know definitive numbers of conscripts which were enlisted under pressure. And excusing the entirety of the "Freiwilligenverbände" even if enlistment was compulsory for foreign ethnic germans in these does a disservice to the countless victims of these organisations.

But as you might have noticed, this nuance leads us down a rabbit hole were we excuse the enlistment of a minority of a minority, the only people who can be easily excused as part of the organisation are the rare cases of conscripted POWs into the SS. But this is the nature of the discussion:

This at first followed the racist theorys of the third reich, but after middling success was allowed for a broader margin of nationals. Most of these were volunteers sanctioned by allied governments, and as the war drove on, some of the volunteers were forcefully conscripted.

The Waffen SS did not have mandatory enlisting, it was not a part of the Wehrmacht and did not allow non-aryans. You are spreading dangerous misinformation.

It does. I dont know if you are actually German but the SS were quite literally the Skull divisions tasked with extermination, not war. As such they are war criminals, and are classified as such by the German State. You are either a fascist or just a colossal idiot.
