Oh wow! I need to hear her do Baby Suggs sermon in The Clearing. My only reference is Beah Richards, who was genius as always.
Morrison recorded the audio version of quit a few of her novels and was a wonderful reader. She makes you lean forward.
@theferocity.bsky.social informed us today that Toni Morrison read the Beloved audiobook herself, so I immediately checked it out from the library since I had been considering a reread after recently finishing the great ‘The Toni Morrison Book Club’.

Now I’m so goddamn sick. I taught my 8am with a fever and I will never do that again. Also, I wish I had bought popsicles on my way home.
So many of my students have been sick all week and I just coughed for the first time.

Solution: Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
I need to find a breakfast that I don’t have to cook, isn’t something I have to get at a restaurant or cafe, and can sustain me until 2pm(after my 11am lecture). Also, test driving bringing my own coffee to campus since my options are Starbucks or the museum cafe that is $7 a latte.

I’m teaching at a new university this semester and to obtain a parking decal so I don’t get a ticket, I have to go to the police station. I’m sitting in this small town police station and wondering why HR isn’t handling this?

It has been consistently below freezing for 2 weeks. Please wrap this shit up.
A lobe of the polar vortex, a stormy ring that typically keeps the coldest air locked up near the North Pole, will dip southward into the United States this weekend into next week.
The polar vortex will soon hit the U.S. See how cold it’ll get where you live
The most unusually cold air in the Northern Hemisphere will be over the United States early next week, bringing dangerously frigid conditions.
