“With a replacement rate of just 0.3%, EVs sold in 2022 or later have barely any issues at all. Importantly…from "Gen 2" onwards, replacements are almost exclusively happening because of manufacturer defects—not capacity loss from piling on miles, which is what most people are afraid of.”

I support this, especially:
“Establish a funding stream to support both capital and operating costs of fast chargers in rural and remote areas and include funding for battery energy storage when grid capacity is insufficient to operate DCFCs.”

“Despite the current policy-driven slowdown in the United States, the data still shows that the widespread adoption of EVs is simple a matter of when, not if.”
Fact check: EVs are still the future, no matter what the Trump administration tries to do to forestall it.

The question for Canada now is whether we want to participate in that future or get stuck in the past.

…the rate of battery degradation in EVs is actually lower than the wear and tear seen in internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle components over time. This further supports the idea that EVs can be just as reliable—if not more so—than traditional gasoline-powered cars.
