I will start (again)🥲 a new project on UE5, I'l make a FPS all about Spells & Guns / Weapons. I'l focus on gameplay, for the first time I'm thinking about using a retro 3d style, more pixelated style like Valheim, I'm not sure yet;

one thing that i really want to achieve is to cause the feeling of "I want to know more" , create theorys and stuff like I see people on Youtube do with old games like the ones i mention;

I am day dreaming a lot with a 3d game, exploration heavy, moody, stylized, I am really considering a first person collectathon;

In my mind it feels like something like SuperMario64 and or Jak and Dexter (1) but on first person, a good balance of explorarion and combat;

But now I'm trying to channel my... well, "situation" and feelings into something productive and that I like doing. So yup, I'm hopping that I can continue and finally ship a game and having fun along the way.

Given some personal situations and event's I've been somewhat distracted and way from my main project, to the point I can't even remember exactly what game I was doing 😅... In that time I've been remaking on Unreal with c++ an old prototype "Lightfast"...

Idea...
Each Tile as a "self contained level / area" like a sci fi dome that provides it own "atmosphere" maybe better comparison its the Truman Show. Then it has specific entrances and exists to the others tiles (" domes ")

Ok so after some time thinking and brainstorming I had decided what should be my next game project; To help me deciding I start to constrain myself: Not narrative based / campaign, no multiplayer, mechanics driven, no open world or lot of levels

Its incredibly stupid to abandon the game just cause of discard this mechanic... The more I think the more I see how stupid it is, I can make it without the swinging gadget... Maybe a game focused on movement/physics it´s to much for my skill set at the moment... sry

I know its horrible to switch project right after making a post as a way of finally go with a project till the end after 5 years of unfinished games ideas and prototypes. What triggers this change trying to code a swing mechanics like Ratchet & Clank in UE5/C++...

I really need to define the core game design pillars of my 3D Collectathon.. So it goes my initial draft:

Really Fluid and Dynamic Movement;
Fun & Diverse "equiappable" gear;
Dynamic Enemys;

Random thought: I was making rice for my lunch and this comes to my mind:

How would be to cook rice on space/0 gravity environment. It must boil / expand in every direction, if heat is always ascend maybe isn't even feasible to boil/cook without seal the rice a "space pan" 😶

I have finally gain the courage to start learning Unreal Engine C++, after years of pseudo prototypes and engine hoping between Unreal / Unity / Godot.

I also have decided to start sharing my learning journey and development progress of what I want to be my first game release!
