Glaswegian lawyer in London with a weird niche in the law of contempt. A fan of politics, law, Jews, the Tube, pizza, football, Celtic, cats & tacos. Someone once gave me an LLM in International law so I occasionally know what I'm talking about
I was also delighted to be interviewed by BBC Look East to further discuss outcome, which was their top story on the 18:30 bulletin on Wednesday.

I was the solicitor for the appellant on the case. Was a truly remarkable case to be involved in. Thanks for covering it. For what it’s worth, the LJJ’s underplay Charlotte Elves’s contribution here…

What’s going on in Gaza is horrifying. The current Israeli government and the Hamas leadership have so much blood on their hands. But that banner on that day, which was the worst day for Jewish deaths since the Holocaust, achieved nothing but division and alienating Celtic’s Jewish fanbase (3/3)

But if your photo on here includes the “victory to the resistance” banner, it’s an instant block. I don’t have the time or energy to explain how fundamentally offensive it is, and to be honest, you probably won’t listen (2/3)

I had an ex girlfriend who once screamed at me at the side of the road for “running over a hedgehog”. Took about 10 minutes before she realised it was her hat…

Is that not exactly the reason Kalle stayed on X?! 😂

Would be interested in any of the newly migrated barristers or solicitors who follow me had any views?

And there are certainly some who have disassociated due to the actions and behaviour of the Israeli government. Also there is so much ambiguity about what “Zionism” means that some people will adopt the definition promoted by antizionists even though they still support Israel’s right to exist

A few things. Firstly Jewish identity has dropped in of itself as we live in a more global and secular world. Someone who is less engaged in their Jewishness (either the religion or the traditions/culture) is less likely to care about Israel.

That’s nice for you. All the empirical data (and my own experience) demonstrates that they are a small proportion of the Jewish community. Good luck to them, they are entitled to their view.

And how’s this for a mind fuck for you…some of the Jews on the pro Palestinian marches will be Zionist 🤯

So how do you think a banner which says “end Zionism” makes us feel? Do you think it makes us feel included and part of the Celtic family?
November 13, 2024 at 9:09 AM
It has not been easy being a Jewish Celtic fan since October 7th. There have been times where I’ve not been sure I’m welcome at Celtic Park anymore. But I’ve been a season ticket holder for close to 30 years and I’m not going to let a minority of extremists push me out 🍀

If you’ve got a problem with that, block me and delete me now. I am not on this site for arguing.

If you want to have a mature conversation at some point about the Middle East and hear a point of view that might be different to what you’re used to, then I’m here 👍
