This stat always blows my mind. LA County’s population is greater than 40 US states’ populations.

“I served as a US ambassador and know hundreds of others. Never met one before who hired a prostitute to seduce their brother-in-law or sent a videotape of the encounter to their sister or who committed 18 felonies and was pardoned by another in-law.” - Fmr. US Amb. to Czech Rep., Norm Eisen

There was no women’s restroom near the House floor until 2011.

Women weren’t allowed to swim in the pool until 2009 - to protect male members who liked to SWIM NAKED at work.

The private congressional restaurants were segregated into the 1950s.

Isn’t it time Congress actually LED on civil rights?

This is really starting to be fun. I’ve been on Mastodon for a while, but this is getting good. Hoping for 3rd party client support from Ivory. Trying out SkyBridge too.

Gosh. Someone should alert the owner of the Washington Post. I'm sure he's very concerned.
As Donald Trump’s nominations for key positions pile up, our columnists are running out of ways to tell you the situation is not good — like, really not good.
