As a palate cleanser, we played a cooperative game in Infiltraitors.

Classic numbers-on-cards with deduction and limited communication. Small, but big for the space it takes up in your mind as you meld with others at the table.

It was a tense, close game—and we high-fived at the end when we won!

Played through my first game of Voynich Puzzle and…

Well, given by the number of times I called the scoring “goofy”, you can basically guess how I felt haha

It was a deep, puzzly time that is enjoyable to fiddle around. But I don’t think I had fun.

I don’t think I would recommend this to myself.

Once again Rude Hat Man proves how uncaring he is with who or what he platforms.

He‘s happy to show one of the most controversial games of the past year in this video—as if it were *just* a silly little meaningless toy whose IP doesn’t directly destroy the lives of trans people across the world.

Aaaaand done! ✅

50 sets of token + sticker packs are made and ready for Indie Games Night Market!
November 15, 2025 at 3:19 AM
At the 30-mark! Some baggies have blue tokens while others have orange-pink tokens.

Buyers will be able to choose whichever color they prefer (while supplies last!)

Tonight is all about filling baggies of acrylic tokens for my upcoming indie game Heavenly Bodies!

I am packing 50 baggies with 7 acrylic tokens and 1 sticker each!

But since all the work is already done by this point in the process, it’s mostly just mindlessness I can do while watching Pluribus!

Eventually the design was screaming for me to add a 4th suit: but what would it be? I knew I wanted it to be as simple as the other suits, and so I explored a few ideas: constellations, UFO’s, radar, asteroids.

I ended up landing on comet ☄️ and I happy with how it matches the rest of the set!
November 14, 2025 at 2:14 PM
Once I was solid on my theme (Star birth) I quickly chose 3 suits I knew were appropriate: planet 🌎 moon 🌙 and a 4-pointed star ✨

The suits show how many points they’re worth: 1, 2, and 4. I also liked how simple in design they were to achieve this subtle communication.
November 14, 2025 at 2:14 PM
Once I had my theme, I wanted it to stand out somehow.

Space has already been done so many times, so I had to put on my own spin. It was a simple idea ultimately that won: just invert the colors of space nebula photography!

What’s great about space photography is that NASA makes them open source!
November 14, 2025 at 2:14 PM
I spent wayyyy too much time at the early phases, when I had no theme at all. At this stage I focused on readability and function over style.

You can tell I tried so so hard to be a @cmyk.games Magenta line mimic! Fortunately I found my footing once I chose a theme I was happy with!

I thought today I can share some of my progress going from prototype to prototype—hopefully sharing a bit about my process, and how I approach graphic design! 🎲 ✂️

Just like that, 50 copies of Heavenly Bodies are fully hand-assembled and ready for Indie Games Night Market!! 🐙

If you’re going to Pax Unplugged, come check out all the awesome games in the Queue Hall—just outside the Expo Hall—on Saturday 7PM!

You won’t want to miss these limited-run games! 🎲✂️

It took a long while but I finally got 30 more fully printed sheets of the player aids out of the printer!

Those machines can be so finicky and require a lot of headaches and resets—not to mention reprinting any errors that came out… but I’m so excited to be into the fun part, cutting them all out!
November 11, 2025 at 10:08 PM
Bonus part 2: There are STICKERS!!!

These were commissioned by the lovely oliviasy.design

You can get these individually, or for free if you get the acrylic tokens upgrade!

Go check out their website and Instagram!

Here’s how the star fragments come out!

And I will have a very limited supply of fun orange-pink ones I made from a piece of scrap I got at the worker space I use!
November 11, 2025 at 4:39 AM
As a bonus: here’s some footage I took earlier of me using the laser cutter to make the special deluxe acrylic star fragments for Heavenly Bodies!

There will be plenty of these—and they’ll come with a free sticker!!!
November 11, 2025 at 4:39 AM
Lastly, once the games are packed in (and I’ve double check their contents!), I individually number each box.

I like to hope this makes the game feel special in a particularly indie way. Messiness, materiality, and handmade feel is our power in this space.
November 11, 2025 at 4:39 AM
Now it’s finally time to pack the games!

I got the box and cards primed at The Game Crafter, so it’s fortunately a simple matter of packing in the materials I made at home!

The benefit of making the rules and player aids at home allows me to make adjustments to the rules *right* up to this point!
November 11, 2025 at 4:39 AM
We can’t forget the player aids!

First we print on one side, flip (and make sure it’s properly aligned) and print on the other side.

I wanted to make sure the game had plenty of materials to make the game as easy to understand and play as possible—and you won’t have to share with your opponent!
November 11, 2025 at 4:39 AM
Each rulebook is cut down to size individually, then folded in quads.

This game has more rules than High Tide did, so I had to use both sides of the sheet!

It’s printed on textured paper, because I want the experience of the rulebook to feel nice—even though it is all a homemade indie project.
November 11, 2025 at 4:39 AM
I spent my night cutting, folding, and packing my first 20 sets of Heavenly Bodies!! 🪐✨ the card game I’ll have for sale at Indie Games Night Market during Pax Unplugged this year!

After this, I’ll only have 30 more sets to go!!

Here’s a thread of my process! 🎲✂️

This new artstyle affords me a lot more flexibility in terms of breaking from expectations of realistic colors

Now I can focus on fun, flashy, high contrast colors that make the game easier to read and play—while also looking more fun to play too!
November 9, 2025 at 5:20 AM
Wow I can’t believe I haven’t worked on this game in like half a year! It’s been a busyyyy year for me in the best of ways.

This weekend I spend some time on it, and I think I’m starting to hone in on the artstyle for Shortstack! I'm much happier with the clean vectors over the "realism" effect.
