I’m a housing organizer, facilitator, writer, & Unitarian Universalist seminarian living on Huichin, Ohlone land (aka East Bay)
I may be naive in saying this, but I believe in a government that takes care of its people. I think we can have nice things in the U.S. if we put in the work.

When folks said “there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism” it was a critique. It was not designed to be a spending philosophy! Where you spend your money matters. It has always mattered.

Religion note: At the end of this speech, Hegseth refers to “the faith of this country — the Christian faith.”

It’s omst explicit I’ve ever heard him be about that view, although it’s been building: religionnews.com/2025/09/29/c...

I feel like I’m giving corporations money just to not send me ads for things I was never going to buy. I hate it here.

Overheard in class, “God is too big to fit in one religion.”

As I work on weening off of Amazon, I want to remind myself and others that there was a time before Amazon and we managed to get what we needed and when we needed it. That time can return again with less violence and exploitation.

They’re not encampment cleanups, they’re encampment evictions. People are being evicted from their homes. Unhoused people are not trash!

Interviewing progressive faith leaders on their social justice work and values has been such a gift.

NEW: Churches in Charlotte are hosting trainings on how to response to ICE agents — with *hundreds* filling pews.

At one training, a child led those gathered in "This Little Light of Mine" — but changed the words to “All around Border Patrol, I’m gonna let it shine" religionnews.com/2025/11/20/a...
As ICE descends on Charlotte, faith leaders draw on other cities' actions to aid immigrants
(RNS) — As many as 500 people, a mix of clergy and other volunteers, have appeared at the training sessions on how to counter ICE.

If 10 years ago, someone were to tell me that meme sharing would be the way people bond during the apocalypse, I would say “That tracks.” 🤣

It seems I am being called…
"There were spaces to meet (and argue), spaces to organize and plan – and spaces to socialize too... Having different groups sharing the same space provided opportunities for people to learn how to organize together." "Yet now, the left is looking at a very different and less vibrant landscape."...
Radical organizing was once backed up by a network of physical spaces. How can we rebuild them to support the movements we need now? By Rosie Hampton (@rosiehampton.bsky.social)

I never understood people who didn’t want to be friends with people with children. I absolutely love it. Auntie status!

This “male loneliness epidemic” conversation is really annoying. Men are not the only group that is discouraged from expressing their feelings! As a Black woman, I deal with the same thing! Yet I still have friends and I am not lonely. The epidemic is an issue of BEHAVIOR and ATTITUDE toward others!

Republicans are defending p—philia. Please pay attention. This is not a real political party. These people are dangerous and need to go.
November 14, 2025 at 9:45 PM
When Republicans say they believe in limited government they really mean they believe in limited governmental control over capitalist enterprises and pursuits. They have no problem with government reaching into family, reproductive rights, DEI, surveillance, labor, and a whole host of other issues.

Anyone else tired of this “less government” vs. “more government” debate in the U.S.? It’s really tired at this point. Is that how narrow-minded we are when it comes to governance?

FYI - Medicaid and Medicare work together to provide services and support that people need. We need to expand them both.

Populism is scaring both parties and I love it.

Y’all don’t want me weighing in on the churches not helping poor people thing. Y’all ain’t ready for that conversation.

Y’all, our seniors are really lonely and isolated. Please connect with them and talk with them. They need us.
