Related, but I saw a Reddit thread wondering why Ranma doesn’t just make the trip back to China to get rid of his curse if he knows where the cure is. And the answer is something never directly stated but easy to see: Ranma hates his curse but loves Akane more. He doesn’t want to leave her that long
This is especially interesting in light of how MAPPA did this Shampoo line earlier this season, deliberating contrasting Shampoo’s superficial affection for Ranma with Akane’s unconditional love for Ranma

The thing about CrunchyRoll’s enshittification is that normally I’m a big proponent of supporting official channels but if the money from subscriptions isn’t being used to pay talent and labour and the quality suffers as a result, then morally what’s the purpose of supporting those official means?
