At 11.40pm, the lookouts in the crow's nest, Fred Fleet and Reginald Lee, spot a dark object, some 2000 feet ahead. The wind chill at 22.5 knots has reduced the air temperature from 32 F (0 C) to 18 F (-8 C) and this was biting into their eyes. #Titanic

In addition to 'La Touraine', more ships are reporting ice in the North Atlantic, directly in the path of the Titanic, which is unaware of these additional sightings. The red line is the Titanic's route; the red/orange icons are ice sightings.
