Es que lo de las fotos es el cono. El cráter es otra cosa. En la foto de Santorini que te pego, el cono estaría en la pequeña isla del centro (Nisis Palaia Kameni) mientras que el cráter lo forma el anillo de islas de alrededor.

Esto lo ilustra magistral (y brutalmente) el famoso esquema de Mignard donde se anota el tamaño del ejército invasor a la ida y a la vuelta, con cuántos hombres quedaban en cada etapa.
