In France, the France Televisions/Prime Video and TF1/Netflix deals are rankling producers, and understandably so. "If a producer can’t make a separate deal with Netflix to help co-finance a show because Netflix gets the show anyway through [TF1], then that’s one financial partner that disappears.”

I was curious about second-window deals for producers (if your ITV show is now also on Disney+, for example, do you get any extra £?). The answer is no, because of fairly standard sub-licensing terms. But could that -- and should that -- change in the future? French producers certainly think so.
