In my latest piece, I write about politics around ST classification in Assam and its implications on social justice and identity politics

The new ST classification in Assam is political eyewash
Increasingly, the demand for ST status has been led not by the desire for advancement or correcting historical injustices, but by access to political power and reservations.

Last year, Nike made $23 billion. Its founder is worth $35 billion. But Nike pays just dollars a day to the workers who make its products.

Today I met Dinar, who sews 222 labels an hour onto Nike products. She is paid $202 a month.

This is corporate greed at its worst.

Say no to war. Always.

People living in border regions know the brutality of war. While countries fight, lives are lost. It's a part of their everyday existence.
Spare a thought for them. Spare a thought for those who will have to fight the war while politicians call for it.
De-escalate.

The end of Western values
The selective moralising of the Western-led global order has been exposed for the lie it always was. It’s time to return to real values.
