He had written a number of unpublished works going back to 1914, 1915: Poems, tales, lore. Even a few of those were published in small journals here and there. I think of JRRT as someone whose works required a very long gestation :D

I'm a musician. As such I learn from masters/teachers/recordings, I try to copy their work as best I can. I have learned from that BECOMING the master/master's art is not possible. The gap between what I do and what I copy is my style
