Some pix my Lorax snapped - once I became aware they were taking some, I started showing off my stability skillz (& came as close to tipping as I have in 20 years when some wash hit me seconds later) 🥰😘🥰

I don’t wanna drag folx down, I wanna lift em up

I know I can connect with gas station bro if I find my empathy & lurve (bleh, past un-therapized self is throwing up in mouth a lil bit at this squishy heart ridiculousness).

*the song Burn One Down is essentially my personal ethos, that & the idea that I’d like to make as lil turbulence/wash for my fellow humans as I carve my own authentic path down the mixed metaphor mountain of life as possible

Thank u for the affirmation -

I’m 40/60 ardent feminist/extreme pacifist*

My natural state is to cause as least inconvenience to other folks as possible 🤷‍♀️

I absolutely got the feeling from his reddening face and continued rhetoric and lack of acquiescence that if I stayed he would have engaged with me loudly until a scene was made/he asked me to leave the store.

I was sadly not surprised that he got all puffed up & defensive - equality feels like oppression etc etc

It’s the response I feared that I got that is why I almost never speak up - this guy is a new hire at a place I frequent 5x a week so I thought it was worth the ruffled feathers but like, whoa.

The owner is a pal & I will be chatting them up discreetly (not in a plz fire this person way, but a ‘plz suggest to them it’s basic human decency to address people the way they prefer’).

Different because you have a relationship with that person, full stop.

My dads buddies get a pass with me because I grew up with them and they love me.

I’m really glad I took my venting here instead of using my powers for evil, like I wanted, and engaging in a full-blown debate…

(I’m not looking to be the topic of the passage Facebook group conversation 😅)

Plus, I’m mostly good. I wanna lift folks up not make them feel small.

Same, and I expect it’s because women are roughly on the same level -

It’s the same as the word ‘bitch’ for me - another woman can call me that affectionally, a man not so huckin’ much

I can’t believe I’m the only local woman annoyed by being spoken to in terms that convey a false intimacy, Ew.

He snarked back about the beautiful thing about Canada being freedom of speech etc

My eyes almost rolled out of my head.

I asked if he called men terms of endearment and he said he calls them ‘bro’.

I advised I was fine with ‘bro’, any term that conveyed equality, but left w/o hearing his reply.
