New record 10.5°C, beating the 9.9°C set last year. Records since 1900.
18.6°C in Wernigerode-Schierke, beating 17.5°C set in 1955, Records since 1903.

Speaking of intensity, the GFS has hinted at something extreme in one of the recent runs. Doubt it'll happen, but still crazy to see a global model with such an output.

New all time records:
Bochum 37.4°C. Records since 1940
Barth 35.7°C. 1947.
Hiddensee-Vitte 35.2°C. 1931.

Monthly records:
Wittenberg 37.9°C. 1937
Dresden-Klotzsche 36.6°C. 1934.

+many more with shorter POR.

Looks like we'll get close to or break the June heat record for Hamburg on Sunday. The Euro main run has a peak of 34°C. Record at Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel station is 34.8°C set in 2019.
Record at Hamburg Neuwiedenthal is 35.7°C also set in 2019.

Lots of smoke in the atmosphere today here in northern Germany. It's smoke from the Canadian wildfires that crossed the Atlantic.

Man, it's so hard to say goodbye to a beloved pet. One of our cats is dying, and it's really messing me up right now. She came into our life 7 years ago and she's been such a blessing. She brought so much joy to our lives.

The latest ECMWF run has some pretty extreme heat for early June with up to 38°C on June 8th, that would be a new national record for early June! Still lots of uncertainty at this point though. kachelmannwetter.com/de/modellkar...
