Thinking today of everyone in the #Philippines impacted by Duterte's 'War on Drugs' including the more than 7,000 people killed by vigilantes and Philippine National Police officers. The #ICC arrest of Duterte for crimes against humanity is an important move for accountability for these killings.

In light of the recent news re: new virus discovered in bats in China, this post is a reminder to everyone that scientists do discoveries not because they want to use it as a bioweapon or to spread this viruses everywhere, but because we need to learn from them and understand their mechanisms...

People can body shame me whenever they want to; I am not bothered about what they say about me; it's my own opinion about myself that rattles me.

I think people should be reminded that something can be relatively safe but only in SMALL amounts. Taking more does not make you feel better

I really like this @statnews.com article, whose premise is "most of you reading this already agree that vaccines don't cause autism, but may not be familiar with the specific evidence that shows how we know."

I don't know how many minds it'll change but I suspect it will be useful in some cases. 🧪
Here is how we know that vaccines do not cause autism
Vaccines do not cause autism. You’ve almost certainly read that before — but often without a full explanation of how we know it to be true. Here's how we know.

It's good that I decided to read discussions about the book I'm reading right now. I guess I should stop reading it then

Random thing about me: I am pretty decent with sketches and drawing but for some reason I can't draw something without any references. That's when I realized that I may be experiencing aphantasia

For some reason, people tell stuff about themselves, so if you are reading this and you probably don't know me (but it's fine! That's the beauty of the internet! ), here's a list of the things I like, and yes, I do follow back because I am an introvert trying to get out of their cocoon:

Sometimes, as a biology graduate, what I hate the most is the fact that, as much as I want to change people's opinion on vaccines, people still don't understand their necessity.

Vaccines save lives. Keep repeating the message. It’s the truth.
Vaccines against COVID-19 saved over 20 million lives in the first year alone, according to a study in Lancet Infectious Diseases. Anti vaxxers conveniently ignore such stats.
