I am a museum curator and PhD Candidate studying community museums, veteran experience, Cdn WWII radar history, memory, and secrecy, but mostly I'm sassy, opinionated, and post about my cat. @mambolica on most platforms she/her #museums #history 🇨🇦🇺🇲
My bestie is a veterinarian. She is the vet of my mom's cat, Smokey. Today, with a little feline sedative provided by my friend, I was able to bring Smokey to the hospital to see Mom. Operation SmokeyDope has been a success. This is important as Mom was so worried about Smokie in her absence.

This request is either going to be the best... or the worst.

Mostly, Morello kept us informed of the score. And he was awesome! It was clear some folks in the audience did not know that Morello is a staunch lefty and were uncomfortable, but honestly, good. That's the point.

And we got home in time to watch the last two innings. A great night was had!

Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want the longevity and durability of a 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 Diesel.

A couple weeks ago I cleaned the cottage chimney for the first time ever. It was yucky but necessary. This is me looking unhappy about a massive chunk of creosote that fell out, which is actually what I wanted. I was just unhappy because it's yucky.

God bless Choco. He's so old and so deaf that a deer mouse just walked right past him and he didn't notice. He is having a wonderful time at the cottage, sleeping under the covers, eating snacks, eating grass, vomiting grass and snacks...

Oh, sweet weeping combats, no.

Yup, violence on both sides...

They have extended me through to March 31 and I am CHUFFED. Gonna have to carve out an office from this mess, but I like a challenge.

I had a group of infantry soldiers up from Brockville in the museum today and their comments were: 1) This place is very cool! 2) Not enough guns! 3) Sorry, we got hungry. You're gonna need more crayons. 😂

One of them even did some colouring and pinned it up. Behold:

Summer hours means I don't really have time for a proper lunch break, so my favourite thing to do right after we open the doors to the museum, is sit on the bench outside and drink my coffee, contemplating the day. This only works if visitors aren't there the moment we open, so today I am in luck.

Age verification? In high school, I hung up on my boyfriend by slamming this down.

Nature finds a way.

My pic. Taken yesterday outside the museum.

So listen. Everything is going to shit. Here's me wearing a partially assembled barbecue and pretending I'm a Dalek.

What actor's expression will stay with you for the rest of your life?

(There are many, but here are two...)

40+ appreciation post. You know the drill.

Almost 48!

It's been too long since you got a proper Choco update. He's 19.5; we celebrated his 19th Gotcha Day on May 15th. He's skinny, even though he eats like a piggy, and I worry about him and his eventual kidney failure. He's so frigging happy with his life and is very bossy about demanding love.

First beach day of the season! Some light reading! I'm feeling pretty grateful today.

Today, the base raised the Pride Progress flag, and I was pleased to see a good turnout. It was unfortunate that the Americans on the base were told they could only attend out of uniform, but nonetheless, there were a couple in our midst. Diversity makes us stronger, and inclusion is integral.

Yesterday was a good arm day. Today: agony.

Enjoy a photo I took on a hike yesterday of some wee ferns popping out their heads.
