All member of Congress took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, to bear true faith and allegiance to it, and to faithfully discharge their duties, as outlined in Article VI of the Constitution, not to a party or President, symbolizing their primary loyalty to the nation's foundational law.
