Students should never have to go through the terror of a shooting–once, let alone twice in their lifetime. No one should be forced to carry this kind of trauma simply for showing up to learn. How many more years will the gun violence epidemic be unaddressed? We owe students safety & real solutions.

So Kilmar Abrego Garcia walks free from federal custody. Funny how the system manages to move quickly when it wants to, but grinds to a halt when it’s about justice.

Mayor Bass: This morning, it was frightening in Los Angeles to see tanks essentially rolling into MacArthur Park.
It was an egregious show of force. I have no idea what their purpose was. I don’t even think they detained anyone.
Los Angeles was peaceful before June 5. We need to go back to that.

No one experiencing the tragedy of a miscarriage should be arrested, much less abandoned in jail for 5 months with a $100k bond. But that’s exactly what happened to Mallori Patrice Strait in Texas. Women, particularly women of color, in this country are no longer allowed dignity even in extreme loss
