Yesterday I was ill. Fever, sweats, thumping headache -whole 9 yds. Today I woke up feeling better. Showered. Took stuff to the tip. Bought a plant. Made really tasty battered mushrooms and got a couple of pictures of my cats being adorable. I'm taking today as a win.

Less of a looker than some of my food, but this is a hasselback sweet potato with a dark muscavado glaze, an ancho chilli smokey sauce, and chickpea, pumpkin and fennel mash. Fully vegan, very tasty, and - most importantly - a learning experience. Next time it'll taste good and look good too

Mochi here decided that during this visit to the vets she was going to demonstrate her love for classic cinema by recreating the 'under the truck' scene from Raiders Of The Lost Ark, resulting in her wedging herself in the dental hygiene machine, and refusing to come out until the vet left

Yeah, it's another cooking post. This is Apple and Pecan fritters, double glazed in a maple syrup and cinnamon glaze. It's not healthy, there's enough sugar in it to summon a small tribe of Hugh Lauries and they were absolutely damn delicious.

After a couple of low days, where I was truly knackered, we finally built the bed yesterday. I also made a salad. This is day two of said salad, this time with some bread so I don't fall over at 4pm.

One of the reasons I do this is to remember what I have eaten. Today I ate breakfast (boiled eggs and chickpeas) and then forgot about lunch. So here's a big stack of chips with beer-battered aubergine slices to make up for it. Also it's Friday, and this isn't a takeaway - a serious improvement!

Had my parents over to the new house for the first time since moving in. Made them baked courgette, champit neep and tatties and a meatless stew. Had leftover mash, so this morning -- homemade potato scones!

Just to warn people - I have a kitchen I can cook in now. There will be food posting on main. This is courgette fried in garlic infused oil, with a chickpea accoutrement in a Dijon and tahini sauce. Rice cakes for cronch

Every so often I am reminded that sites like GameRant don't actually play games, they just look at other people's comments on them. HH is not the most complicated weapon in the game. It doesn't have stances, you don't charge phials, and it doesn't need ammo. HH is easy. You doot, monster fall down.

I looked up from where I sat, eating a bowl of spicy stuff (lentils, chickpeas, mushrooms and crushed tomato) and saw this. Felt peaceful. I hope you, whoever you are, feel peaceful too.

Currently working on moving house, heading 400 miles up country. To spare the cats the stress, they are on holiday while we do the hard bit. Here they are in the studio, about to drop the hottest rap album of the summer
