As several people downthread are noting: in his first term, Trump very visibly bungled a pandemic, told people to drink bleach, got hundreds of thousands of people needlessly killed ... and skated away with zero accountability. Why would this time be any different?

They’re going to win a lot of battles. Maybe even most of them. But as I’ve seen others say before, your enemy can win the majority of the battles and still lose the war if you make those victories costly enough

Could the current far-right court throw out even that precedent in favour of just completely making something up? Certainly they could try. But it would be an outlier even from their prior decisions, and most importantly, *there is zero-need to pre-surrender to that now*
