This morning people were turned away at security, couldn’t even get to their office to clear out their stuff.

gone, and the Econ staff at HHS that reviews our work are all gone. Most leadership positions are gone too. They are firing offices, not individuals.
Various offices still around are huddled in conference rooms.We are all just refreshing our email to see if another wave is comin

The idea of renaming "Greenland" to "Red, White and Blueland" must have come from our 2020 Science paper where we (Ben Smith and 14 others) used NASA's ICESat and ICESat-2 laser altimetry to show how much the ice sheet surface went up or down in 16 years.

We expect the rapid retreat of the glacier observed over the past couple of decades to continue and to accelerate during the latter part of this century and beyond. This sector of West Antarctica will contribute increasingly to an accelerating rate of global sea-level rise.

Through the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration more than a hundred researchers have been conducting studies on many aspects of the glacier over the past six years. Overall, our results paint a grim picture for the future of the glacier and thus the wider West Antarctic Ice Sheet.
