What Pat Cummins is doing for climate adaptation and mitigation in Australia - protect something people love in their normallives, help them do it differently (loads of solar) - is an incredibly replicable model for climate advocates everywhere

Already certain Green converts are basically saying "ditch the seats we won in Herefordshire and Suffolk - they're full of the wrong kind of voters". But, to state the bleeding obvious, that's not going to be popular with activists - and MPs - there.

Sky, ITV and the BBC have spent the last few weeks empowering these racist turds with poor to bad faith reporting of tiny demos organised by far right groups as huge events of national importance, while offering no push back to relentless lies told by Farage and others. The TV newsrooms own it.
Sickening footage from Nuneaton tonight, where a Sky News interview with a local businessman was disrupted by racists hurling abuse.

Another local said, "Warwickshire Council Council has gone to Reform... It's given certain people a licence to be aggressive and racist."

'Europe is at war with Russia' is a deeply weird thing that you can find out just by reading the information that governments put on their website and if you read a quality newspaper, but *actual politicians* don't really talk about:

"UK council tax is based on 1991 property valuations, grouped into eight price bands and paid by tenants. It is probably the world’s most unfair property tax: the poorest pay the highest tax as a percentage of property value and the richest the least."
Britain needs a wealth tax on property
Targeting expensive houses and non-residential land would leave the vast majority of homeowners and farmers untouched

This is spot on, and not just with regard to legal reporting. We increasingly live in a world of binary and deeply simplistic thinking. Which means that everything is slowly turned into a us-versus-them question. It is disastrous for reasoned debate.
Part (but not all) of the problem is the tyranny of simplicity: media, and the transmission of information in general, often require simple summaries. Some summaries achieve brevity through easy untruths.

This stuff obviously goes to Russia. Poland & Lithuania stopped this racket. Why won't Germany and Italy do the same?
