After a year-long blockade and starvation campaign, the entire Armenian population of the Artsakh Republic was forcibly deported. This was the second Armenian genocide. Now, Armenian hostages are being tortured, and Armenian heritage is being systematically destroyed.

Today, we not only remember the genocide that took place in the Ottoman Empire and the ongoing erasure of Armenian life and culture in Western Armenia, but we also mourn what happened in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in 2023.

In April, Armenians around the world commemorate the genocide committed in the Ottoman Empire. To this day, we are denied the right to return to our indigenous lands. Millions of Armenians were forced to flee, massacred, survivors in so-called Turkey have to hide their identities.

No one represents us. The Russian opposition does nothing but build idols and fight among themselves.

It’s all a sad spectacle.

Navalny tried not to live in the past and kept evolving. And what are you doing?

What’s next? The problem is not justfake politicians as Katz. Or not just Putin.

I don’t want to diminish the traumas of Russians. I understand how hard it was to protest and live in Russia. I understand the hardships of migration.

But at the same time, I—like many other non-Russian people—don’t understand the Russian opposition.

There are no more politicians of Navalny’s scale because Russian people simply don’t need them right now. The era of easy resistance is over.

Now is the time for Russian infighting and lamenting.

then Navalny will remain just a dream and a false hope—the one that attended Russian nationalist marches and wrote nonsense about minorities.

He was inspiring, he did a lot of important work, he was a significant politician. But if the Russian opposition doesn’t learn to take the next steps and talk about real problems
