Soviet Russians replaced capitalists with... state monopoly capitalism, and called it communism. Ownership of means of production was handed to friends and families of political leaders, instead of direct inheritance.
The Russian oligarchy is just the natural next step.

The higher it goes up, the harder it falls. Money will end one day, it may take a while, but it will happen.

It is not high tech, modern stuff.
As long as it does the job...

Any political action which could be in any way effective would cost Billions.
Either by direct intervention or sanctions impact on the economy.

We can organise protests under the embassy somewhere for free, but this is just pretending to do something.

Europe can't as we haven't kept a military production base after the cold war finished.
The US who did, doesn't want to help.
We are so deeply dependent on energy commodities and we barely manage with Russia, Iranian and Venezuelan sanctions...

We cannot effectively help Ukraine to defend themselves, we provide minimum help to keep them from collapsing. We didn't manage to prevent them from eroding their forces. Ukraine is a country which directly borders NATO.
But you want to have a realistic military impact on a desert country?

We cannot stop it. Spending millions trying will not end well.
August 15, 2025 at 2:51 PM
It is terrible, but it is mostly an internal issue.

The UK lost any real agency related to the Middle East, Palestine or Israel a long long time ago.

I don't understand why we discuss this in British politics on this level at all.

I don't know what you expect from the next president, but it most likely would be much worse than that.

There are a lot of these naive clips in TikTok saying... I am moving out of the US asking where to go in Europe. Like it was easy and everyone would allow them to move with open arms...

There is a customer aspect of this as well.
eg. Tesla sales in Europe are crashing.
I personally decided to buy an alternative to the US.
Europe will buy more energy commodities from the US (eg.Natutal Gas) so it may balance out in the long term?

If you look a little bit beyond 5 years, you will find that the dollar goes back to normal pre-covid levels. I hope it will go down by another few.

Agriculture is only one issue, and it wouldn't be only a regional issue.

Ideology does weird things to the brain.
Probably hate toward Germany or West culture in general is much greater.

I stopped using social media daily. It wasn't good for me. Doom scrolling is toxic.
So I check news here from time to time, and rarely check on certain people on the old apps.

I would be very careful with those numbers.
The attack was very strong, but 40 is a little bit optimistic.

Current rules are unfair for Transport companies who have to keep to EU rules.
This issue has been ignored by many.
Saying this, protesting just now is... Let's call it "an unfortunate coincidence"
