Lay offs are terrible and should never happen, but this feels like how capitalism was always going to end--a bunch of ignorant folks at the top desperately looking for short term gains listening to the hype from sycophants.

Fr. I've got a spouse. Technically, she is my wife. But the words "wife," "husband," feel intimate to me, so I didn't really like using them in public. Consistently, though, when I did, folks automatically assumed "spouse" for me meant "husband; gay." Cover is needed and useful.

It's truly amazing how limited our minds are--this being a great example. Forget their dumb ass, we don't even initially think, "Hey, how expensive is a burger in a place with higher wages, like Europe?" Instead, we stay on point and argue with the fallacy like dumbasses.
