Being in Ohio, but not being on this app all that often, I'm just now seeing the whole "You need to verify you are an adult to have access to all of our features!"

Anybody else in a religiously oppressive state that is dealing with this have a take?

Holy shit I hate sciatica.

Can we make beds and desks and chairs and screens and jobs and etc. where we can just stop sitting all day long and having to do so in the most damaging ways possible? Please?

Had 3 bots follow me today.

On the Sky.

Really? Already?

If your don't already follow...

My wife came home yesterday talking about a kiddo she had assessed who was "severely" autistic. She mentioned, sidelong, that she knows she isn't supposed to say "severe," but that he was.

Then my brain exploded into frustration and societal rage and I went on a rant about the whole conversation.

Ughhhhh... Apple users.

Random thought of the day brought in by my insatiable libido: reading (listening to, actually) Emily Nagaski's book, "Come As You Are," changed my relationship with my wife, the way I think about relationships, and pretty much everything.

Someone I followed posted something delicious and was completely
unapologetic for it, soooo...

If you don't like it, I'm a millennial, fuck you.

Wanna know the empirical evidence I have that everything is better over here in BlueSky? I woke up this morning and 99% of my timeline was people losing their shit over how awesome DS9 is.

That, and the fact that I have no idea what stupid thing any of the dumb politics did? Chef's. Fucking. Kiss.

Shit heel alert. While the empassioned voices here have good intentions, folks like this Tool fan are just incendiary devices--you might play with it a bit to look and feel cool, but eventually it will hurt somebody. Always block and move on, do not engage. Spay and neuter wild trolls.

This is the best articulated explanation of the situation we all find ourselves in now. Seriously, I don't think it even slightly misses on a single point; from being coerced into participating in the system to "ALL THE FUCKING COPS." Print this out and frame it, because it's fine art.
I'm not an accelerationist because I'm not pushing this as an agenda, but what I'll point out is that the entire country is constantly being held hostage by bad actors engaged in a never ending game of good cop-bad cop with Republicans who see the Republicans as closer kin to their policy than us.

I know there are definitely parents who would a little aghast at the fact that I've let my six year old watch FMA: Brotherhood several times and have thoroughly discussed the concepts, morals, and lessons the series presents with them. But I don't care at all; they get to understand stuff like this:

At one point, my mom called me out on me driving in the middle lane on a the lane highway. "You don't ALWAYS stay in the rightmost lane!" The obvious answer to that was that I was trying to stay out of the way of folks getting on the highway via on-ramp. Buuuut, this begged a lot of other questions.

If, like me, sometimes you like to put loud, wrong folks in their place, find your resident Pro-Lifer and ask them how old, in God's eyes, a person has to be to lose all value as a human life.

Then just watch the stupid fireworks. Best when used in a crowd of stupid.

So I just watched Willy's Wonderland for the first time. It was more or less what I was expecting and absolutely didn't disappoint. However, the silent protagonist motif really struck me. I thought maybe they'd have him talk at some poignant moment, or even at the end, but no. Never says a word

Our HOA complained about my wife and I speeding in the neighborhood.

This is funny for a lot of different reasons, not the least because I NEVER speed.

But my wife and I were talking about this and I provided her my "Types of drivers" theorem.

Three types-- "Flow," "Obsessed," and "Entitled."

Did anyone else's parents just *not* teach you how to cook? Or... Anything home related? I was taught how to do laundry and cook out of a box, but caulking, hanging things, etc., I got nothing.

Labels are dumb, but also extremely useful.

There's a lot of times I hate the use of labels, particularly around sexuality and gender for myself. What do you mean, "Straight?" What do you mean, "Cis?" These things have always applied to me in the midst usefully of privileged ways, buuuuuuuuuut...

That feeling when one of your engineers is down on themselves for not directly contributing to development due to necessary education...

... And when you cheer them up with a quote from a random Panopticon track.

I like to shame TradWife relationships because they're just Christianity Approved™ Sub/Dom relationships. Fetishized clothing, fetishized roles and responsibilities, the whole shebang. They just don't have the balls to come out and say "We're freaks and we love it," like normal folks do. Shameful.

I have one twin playing Some Kirby Switch Game, another twin in the toddler's "yes zone" with a giant pillow around her neck telling to come to her, the toddler drooling while he stands on a box, chanting and dancing, and my wife changing from pants to shorts in the bedroom, for open.

Good day.

Thanks to Musk being... Brilliant, I now have suddenly found a fairly large number of people in here that I was missing from my old Twitter feed.

Thanks, Musk! Your idiocy is my boon!

Sitting on the ground at the first grade playground (yes, they have one per grade 🙄) letting the twins run amok during the schools "Playground Playdate."

Plenty of parents here, none that I know, and do I talk to no one. I just sit and chill. Boring, certainly, but also meditative. Could be worse.
