I wouldn't be surprised if 2028 is a mad dash to the center. Once Trump is gone, extremists on either side will appear "Trumpish" and people will be tired of that.

Knowing all the above are correct, what line would you hold? The GOP loves the shutdown. They hate SNAP and education and government itself. What would make them fund something they want to destroy like ACA? It's like saying to a picky kid: "I won't let you have broccoli until you clean your room."

Have a look at this table ranking states by marketplace participation. With few exceptions, nearly all of the people most affected by the subsidy loss are red states. The exceptions are purple. Clearly the GOP doesn't care. They want to end the ACA. share.google/aimode/TIHpH...

Agreed. The problem is: he hung out with the wrong crowd in his late teens and took a drug plea that makes him a deportation target. He was deported, then came back. He should have been given citizenship as a kid. Now it's too late.

We both want a more progressive America. The question is: how do we get there? My worries about the shutdown were simple. If Trump doesn't care about hurting people, at what point does he squeal? That's question.

Trump is a bully and bullies only respond to strength. I got that. What makes him NUTS is losing elections and court cases. He can't "lose" a shutdown because he has a tariff slush fund to take care of his priorities. It's people who need assistance & jobs that suffer.

No. My thesis is Trump liked the shutdown. GOP hates government anyway. They would have kept it shutdown until food riots allowed Trump to declare martial law.

No. They qualify for Medicaid expansion. They can't afford ACA in red states, regardless

Please explain to me when the Orange King would cave and reinstate subsidies, when he was having so much fun cutting jobs and making SNAP recipients starve? Seriously? When? A week a month? Hint: GOP loved the shutdown. They hate SNAP.

When was Trump caving ?
November 10, 2025 at 8:21 PM
No. They are ensuring 41 million Americans, many disabled, receive their SNAP. Shutdowns don't work against Trump 2.0 because he LOVES them. Shutdowns help Trump to fund ONLY what he loves, like ICE, and end things he doesn't, like SNAP, EPA, schools, medical research, aid to Ukraine..... No win sit

Maybe one of the teens in a breadline in an open carry state like Florida or Texas fires back with a .22; riots ensue. #StarveThemOut trends on X; Trump nationalizes ALL national guard and locks down every Blue State city.... We've gained what? Dictator for life? Trump hates us.
