In the nicest way possible. I do think part of why fandom drama can be so specifically weird is BECAUSE fandom culture attracts a more neurodivergent crowd (particularly autism). People who cannot read a room to save their life all arguing with each other over nothing.

The rest of the point about fandoms weird racism was really good in that post tho, just be careful when making sweeping statements about what clothing is 'savage' and what clothing is logical and respectable because the world is so much bigger and more beautiful than you could imagine. 👍👍👍

That rant has been stewing for a while. Probably also spurred on by the work in recent years by so many Aus museums to update the indigenous sections to be collaborative with actual communities, went to the national museum earlier this year and there were so many phenomenal pieces...

Look idk maybe it's not my place to say but because I'm not indigenous, but that Tumblr post about pre reform vulcan design does bother me because while the discussion about fandoms gross noble savage trope is well layed out, the discussion about clothing is. Um. Australia always gets forgotten.
