Medical associations and public health experts have said U.S. vaccine policies should not be compared with those in countries that have universal health care systems and fewer disparities. Like this from AAP:

My opinion of ACIP from yesterday has been supported by what I’ve seen so far today.

ACIP in its current form is not a legitimate scientific body.

It is an epidemiological crime scene.

If you are used to attending or watching ACIP metings, it is difficult to describe just how disturbing this one has been. People talking over one another, confusion, outright ignorance. Compare this to the very orderly, sedate, consideration of facts of previous meetings for years and years.

A picture is worth a 1000 words. The birth dose of hepatitis B vaccines in the USA eliminated perinatally acquired hepatitis B infection from over 20,000 cases a year before the vaccine was introduced to <20 cases a year. The gaslighting by the current members ACIP is obscene, unethical and cruel.

Summary of what happened at Temu ACIP this morning:

As expected, they overturned the 30+ year recommendation for the birth dose of HepB vaccine, which has reduced the incidence of pediatric HepB by 99%.

They provided no credible evidence to support this decision.

This afternoon, they'll try to gut the childhood vaccine schedule.

I'm writing an article about this right now, but "Among children born during 1994–2023, routine childhood vaccinations will have prevented... 1,129,000 deaths."

Over a million deaths in one generation of kids.

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy again makes a concern-shaped face and types out futile demands to undo the horrific decisions that are being made because he voted to confirm RFK Jr. as HHS Secretary and encouraged others to do so.

He makes sad noises but doesn’t DO anything to stop this travesty.

🦠What happens when you say you will only protect babies of infected moms, but you are bad at detecting infected moms❓

🚫You miss a lot of babies who needed protection.

This is exactly why in 1991 we went from only vaccinating babies of Hepatitis B positive moms to vaccinating all babies.

Whose advice should US parents follow since ACIP is no longer legitimate?

My answer is in the article below.

“I would follow the American Academy of Pediatrics advice, as well as the Vaccine Integrity Project…The one group I wouldn’t trust is ACIP”.

These are extraordinarily serious decisions. Even before any formal vote, today’s muddled process has already signaled to the public that a safe, cancer-preventing birth-dose is “up for debate” with no new safety data. The stakes are serious. The process hasn’t been. 2/2
