Always such a joyful celebration with our new graduates. It was great also to see our alumni at the commencement.

Grateful for recent graduates from our department who came back earlier this week to meet with current students. They shared their success stories and also challenges that they have faced with during this time of uncertainties.

In this piece, we discussed the impacts of USAID funding cuts globally & locally. We also underscored the critical need for the next generations of leaders who can navigate a global health landscape less dependent on the US & the role that Tulane can play.

There is still much work to be done!
The cuts to USAID impact people globally AND locally. It's worth discussing how: www.nola.com/opinions/gue...

Leaders capable of understanding and utilizing research and evidence to shape global health policies and programs are more needed now than ever.

This is months of collective work (and sweat) across the school. Please spread the word and email with questions!

Thinking about my colleagues there, from whom I first learned about the suspension of their USAID-funded work during a regular team meeting. Later that day we learned about our own suspension.

Proud to see the research project in #Vietnam that I had the privilege of serving as a mentor getting published. It highlights the needs to prepare the #healthcare workforce for #dementia care in an #aging population.

Dr. Paulin Basinga was a graduate from our #IHSD
Dept around the time I joined #Tulane. It was a pleasure to welcome him during his visit to the department and chatted about the #globalhealth landscape and some new developments in our academic pgms.

My first post here, post-election, post-X, is when I’m standing in line right now, which wraps around the block, for a talk by Abortion in America. At my favorite local black-owned independent bookstore. Looking forward to the conversation!
