I actually should stay out of closed courses, because it is not very fair... that is an odd view of Sandown, I would never have got it in a hundred years.

4. I know I have seen this photo, but cannot remember...
November 24, 2025 at 12:36 PM
Agree 2 Sedgefield...
November 24, 2025 at 12:35 PM
I agree 1 Redcar...
November 24, 2025 at 12:34 PM
Going to say 3 Bournemouth...
November 24, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Sorry, too busy at Carlisle by the time I got home, results announced. Would have got the two defunct but neither of the others...

I too do it on the phone, never tried the laptop.

Thought hard about Manchester and decided not quite big enough... ding, dong, wrong!

3. Could be Lanark before the stands swapped sides... I am sure I have seen that photo somewhere!
October 27, 2025 at 12:46 PM
I think it is difficult! Going left field and saying 1 is Windsor looks figure of 8? Probably rubbish...
October 27, 2025 at 12:31 PM
Too late with two... Goodwood (don't think it is Lewes)...
October 27, 2025 at 12:27 PM
Indeed and one does get some funny angles... cunning to produce a blurred photo, only one you have...

The Old 'Daintree' racecourse...

Again, a strange tilt for a course that is dead flat...
October 21, 2025 at 11:20 AM
Oh...certainly make the supplement bigger!

They like a hill... never under Rules, was it?
October 20, 2025 at 8:51 PM
I have had a paper map of that area for years as well as lots of copies, and never seen it, oh dear...
October 20, 2025 at 6:22 PM
Thanks...
October 20, 2025 at 6:21 PM
OK, that seems fine, two Allts!

I am sending you a list of volume two....
October 20, 2025 at 5:50 PM
I do have course lists, actually, from vol 2 onwards... forgot!
October 20, 2025 at 4:15 PM
I do not seem to have known where the new course of 1829 was. One presumes it was the lh one, but new course can mean anything.
October 20, 2025 at 4:12 PM
I have never noticed it..
The first races were in 1801 at Allty-y-gog, the right-hand course (according to me, not sure of source). Racing in 1802, then none till 'new course' in 1829, finishing in 1835. One for the supplement!
October 20, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Also no 1 Plumpton, which had an old stand from Northampton
October 20, 2025 at 12:57 PM
Already in, but 4 is Manchester New Barns, on its last day I think...
