Yes, we have seen that before. It's where they pick up the pilot, before going back on Route T

It got visited by the EE pollution control vessel Lotos (IMO8846711). It's not even listed by Lloyd's as belonging to the #shadowfleet, so might not have had anything to fear and just heeded a call by EE authorities? Interesting nevertheless.

Most of these vessels got their class before they got sanctioned, I assume. Would a renewal by an EU based company like #Rina comply with the sanctions?

Another good reason to stop this highly destructive fishing method.

That could explain, indeed.

Yes, from the tankers I checked, many are still in service actually. Quite a mess still on MT and Seasearcher.
November 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Seasearcher left, MT right. I check one of these tankers and its last port call is given with April, 15. No AIS signal since. Did they use out-of-service ships for this?
November 10, 2025 at 3:22 PM
You mentioned that the attack affected MT and Vesselfinder, right? While MT looks 'normal' again, Seasearcher still shows these vessels at their spoofed Nov 2 position, incl. many shadow fleet tanker, that I just look at and that got me into this.

Odd behaviour for a #falseflagged vessel, indeed. It picked up a pilot (together with product tanker Energy Ariadne) to then change course back to route T. In the Skagen TSS, these tankers regularly cross DK's territorial waters. With no consequences.

Quick update - the #Furia (IMO9257802) is about to leave the English Channel, still at rather low speed, now and then testing to go at full speed (11-12kn). Let's wish her luck... and hope the next inspections comes soon.

From a rather slow 9.5kn it now slowed down to 6.5kn. Got a feeling this story isn't over yet.....
October 29, 2025 at 3:09 PM
UPD: the Furia changed status to 'underway using engine', moving with 8.5kn southwest towards the main shipping lane. Let's keep fingers crossed....
October 29, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Marine Traffic does not show any support or patrol vessels nearby the Furia, since it turned around at Fehmarn Belt. Not what I would normally advocate for, but hope that is because they are operating 'dark'

I also noted this recent absence of false flag vessels. Urals oil price is rather low since a while. Does that make it easier for operators to be price cap compliant? When does the USD45 cap come into force and how is applied. I.e., is the daily price relevant?

I never stop marveling about this world we live in....am sure there is some clever thinking behind this aparent 'gap'. 😵‍💫Thanks for clarifying @vesselspotter.bsky.social

Why does it doe all this detour, when it still needs to cross the #WetRep reporting line to go to the Baltic?

This shouldn't be a competition :-) Would be great if all parties would align their sanction lists and tigthen enforcement, starting with #falseflag vessels that make a mokery of international maritime law.

he does, indeed!
