I tried to introduce the horrors of fascism to my teen by watching #SwingKids and he was livid that the characters had American accents and hated the whole movie because of it. I loved it as a kid for the music. America is at about the 40 minute mark in the movie now in terms of fascism level. Ugh.

Having studied "Weapons of Mass Destruction" for my Poli Sci degree at the U of Oregon (which was quite familiar with molotov cocktail attacks on SUVs) I can assure the public that a molotov is not a weapon of mass destruction.
AG Pam Bondi doing her best George W. Bush impression, calling Molotovs thrown at Teslas "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and saying "we are not negotiating" with the suspects she's called "terrorists."

There is a great privilege in watching so many brown people be illegally detained when entering or living in the US and thinking it can never happen to you...only to be "Shocked!" when you see it happening to your fellow white people.

After I left the US in 2006, I intended to pay in a few more credits to Social Security so I could be eligible for a pension. I think I'm 1 year short or something like that. Not sure I'll bother now. I'm eligible for UK pension now and I'll just do that one instead of US. Bah. Bah humbug.

At this essential time during authoritarianism, I find happy cat/dog content a waste of time and strange. How can brains take on news of genocide in one message and see a cut dog in another. It isn't right, and it £$%^s with our brain's messaging systems. It's numbing us to reality.

Something keeps lifting up berry netting to get to my king stropharia mushroom mycelium patch. Rat? Squirrel? Fox? Cat? What animal eats #mycelium? They dig past the woodchips and go straight in. They're also getting a dose of nematodes I applied to kill slugs.

Anyone in #Prestwich have any extra cornflower or nigella seeds going spare? Dahlia tubers (longshot)? I could also use some leek starts or seeds. Gardening is going to keep me from going crazy while unemployed except I'm too broke to do it. Still going to try.

I had to make a new account because preemptively blocking people actually alerts them to your presence when really, you don't want them to be able to harass you through various accounts by even being able to find you. Bluesky needs to do better to protect people.
