@denyscowan.bsky.social really hope there’s some new Milestone comics in the works! I’ve sent some to kids in Liberia and they’ve really been enjoying Static, Duo and Icon and Rocket! Those books have given them a lot of joy ☺️

The videos of often-violent ICE arrests circulating on social media are “brutal and terrifying,” Sarah Wildman writes. “What should give Americans equal pause is the inhumanity happening beyond the cameras, away from the view of judges and lawyers and the media.”

@shannongibney.bsky.social justice wanted to say thank you for writing Dream Country! I read it and recently went to Liberia where I gave a copy to one of my little cousins and he’s been enjoying it as well!! The representation is so important!

Too many people have resigned themselves to not reading because they fear they no longer have the focus for it. You only need to limit your screen time for a few days to begin feeling the effects on your brain. I promise you, you are capable of reading books again.

This is flat out false. SNAP cannot be used for that. It’s not permitted under federal law and no states have an exemption for it.
ROB SCHMITT: People are using SNAP benefits to get their nails done, to get their weaves and their hair. This is a really ugly program.

SEN. RON JOHNSON: That program needs to be dramatically reformed.

The GOP campaigned on "We are better at government than the Democrats"

Enough voters believed them and gave them the keys to the government.

And now its "Its all Democrats' fault that we suck at governing"
Trump: "It's their fault. Everything is their fault."

There is a disconnect in America today: Trump is deeply unpopular facing mass resistance from citizens. But elites keep rolling over for Trump anyway.

What to do? An organized boycott campaign.

Here's how it would work, and why it could very well change elite behavior www.vox.com/politics/466...

Someone recommended Bitter Root as a “if you liked Sinners, Bitter Root contains a similar theme of racism embodied by monsters” the story is great so far. I also recommend in the same theme N.K. Jemisin’s “The City We Became” and “The World We Make” and I’ll always recommend her Broken Earth Saga.
