I tried to use a new delaunay triangulation method based on the convex hull node together with the dual mesh node to build a 2D voronoi evaluator:

It uses one heavy boolean node (~100ms) to get rid of overlaps, but it's still really performant for 200 points in ~130ms

The project is finally done and functional! This time I've been working on a small amplifier.

Now I'll have to shoot more B-roll, get a coherent script together and edit the whole thing. If I'm lucky I'll be able to finish the video until sunday next week - that probably won't be the case though 😅

The electronics are finally done🎉

I just tried it - it works and does its job perfectly!
I just need to fix the soldering at the battery always falling off 😅

Got new parts for the project of the next video!
This is the 3rd try now, I hope these will finally work - electronic parts aren't as cheap as they say...

I'm working on a new video,
this will be a fun one I think

Finally done with the editing 🎬
I hope this is the last revision (it's been like 6 now)
If that's the case, I'll probably be able to upload the video tomorrow!

Should I make it a premiere? At what time are you all online?

A new video is in the oven 📸

We have achieved perfection.

It will take time until we will see another moment of such magnificence, enjoy it while it lasts🙂

It's been like this for over 3 days now👀

Come on youtube just let me have this - I promise I actually can't deliver an upload until next week

Update 1.1.0 of #RotoForge, my ML-assisted rotoscoping tool for Blender, is out!

Now we have multi-masks, and much much more🥳

Get the update on:
GitHub: github.com/MagnumVD/Rot...
KoFi: ko-fi.com/s/5025cf0a06

It is free, but if you "buy me a coffee", great!
Tysm for supporting me, it helps a lot.

The daily update on the #RotoForge development:

I'm just putting in the last details, removed a few very annoying bugs and added a button to resync your Mask layer with an old Mask sequence.

With this, the new update is now 100% backwards compatible🥳

The daily #RotoForge update:

Loading times are now so fast I can't get the terminal out of the way fast enough - nice👍

The daily update on the #RotoForge development:

- RotoForge now respects the mask frame range (I also added a small button to set it to the scene frame range)
- Layers using RF now have built-in feathering (whole layer)
- I added a small panel to node editors to make mask loading easier

Daily update for #RotoForge:
-The sidequest lead nowhere, I decided to remove the Forceupdate button for now since it's still broken
-It was time to go work on the importer again, which works fairly well now, I just need to fix a few bugs
-I also found a bug in some imports - luckily was a quick fix

Daily update for #RotoForge:
Still no commit - I started a sidequest with some evil code that rips my addons modules out of the python cache so that I can update the python libraries without Windows babysitting me saying they are in use by a program

This is horrible, but I think it will work🙃

It's almost time for the next #RotoForge update!
I thought I'd maybe put up my progress daily until the release (hopefully this weekend)

Today I've been able to finish the whole new mask rasterization, it's now perfectly in sync with blender.
With this, you can also export your masks as textures🥳

How one might notice that now I don't have school anymore due to holidays:

This is just a repost from twitter, but a shot I'm very proud of:
I took this footage of some geese at a local lake a few months ago, and tried a set-extension/relighting workflow.

ETF image tools aswell as compify are used for the color management, RotoForge for the rotoscoping.

I'm sorry, this is the best I can offer

Maybe one day I'll learn Godot and expand this a bit in an actual engine, I think that could be pretty funny as a Metroidvania-kinda game

The movement is definitely solid, I'd have to create some sort of combo-based combat though...

While I'm working on the underlying version and file-management system for #RotoForge (It's so much🫠, but it'll pay off when it's backwards compatible with older projects), most people probably won't notice it.

So here's something:
Overlays are now (almost) pixel-perfect and no longer blurred!

I do not like the msgbus in blender.
There's almost no documentation and there are so many edge-cases about how updates work

And all of this just because I can't add my own properties to bpy.types.MaskLayer because it is a subclass of bpy_struct instead of ID😭
Can somebody help me log name changes?

Some technical context:

It's only a linear distribution and I took some liberty with the strength of the aberration, but other than that physically accurate and as energy-conserving as blender can render glass. Sadly shadow caustics can't help

Here's one of the first renders (100,000 samples, 1h)
December 3, 2024 at 5:29 PM
I tried creating a glass shader with chromatic aberration🌈

This was 200,000 samples and took 2.5h to render
