I love discovering preserved elements of history just dotted about in everyday life - like this sign giving instructions for heavy loads on the canal bridge!

This notebook from my time as Assistant Art Curator at y Gaer is full of these maps of the galleries. As a visual person they really helped when planning new exhibitions!

It’s far to early to be thinking of Christmas but these ornaments from the tree at Dinefwr House are always a favourite of the season!

I’ve spent a year immersed in clay, in my own pottery practice and through my work on the ceramic scoping project @artukdotorg.bsky.social

This year I’ve had the opportunity to do lots of teaching in my other role as a pottery studio technician. As a very introverted person it always surprises me just how much I enjoy sharing my love of ceramics with others and seeing what they create!

I started #museum30 in 2017 to share my love of museums. Though I’m not working in a physical museum I still get to work with art from across the UK’s public collections through my role @artukdotorg.bsky.social

We spent the day looking around the Potteries Museum and had a brilliant behind-the-scenes look at the Spode Museum (so good that I only took one photo!)

Why Museums? Because they are spaces for connection. Connecting to nature, to our past, to different viewpoints and as I’m reminded each year they let us connect over our love of heritage.
Thank you to everyone who has taken part this year!

I discovered a love for repetitive museum work during my placement photographing insects trapped within resin for a researcher @morethanadodo.bsky.social and now I get to spend lots of my day split between cleaning up data and researching interesting ceramics!

My social media handle comes from my old blog, started whilst volunteering at the Cole Zoology Museum with their microscope slide collections. I’ve not written a blog post in a long time but the name has stuck! What made you choose your handle?
