and there are so many horror movies where the gay characters don’t die (Clown in a Cornfield, for example, which came out just a few weeks before Weapons) these days so like, idk, i think it’s fine, let gay characters have cunty moments in horror movies too as a treat

and the gay couple in weapons was never otherized or mistreated or done dirty for being gay - they were treated exactly like every other character in service to the larger story being told to the point that you could swap the husband with a wife and nothing would really change

idk, man, i think gay characters should be able to have cool and gory and exciting and impactful deaths in horror movies too - it’s very much part of the full breadth of the horror movie experience, it is memorable, it immortalizes characters in film history
