Hi everyone I’m Mag!

I’m an artist unfortunately based in the southern US, but working on my escape plan to Europe. My art is heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau movement of the late 1800s, and I use those poster designs as well as lots of symbolism to bring attention to obscure history and myth.

Roman inspired mosaics create a border on both sides, as well as a ring behind his head, and floral details at the top. His name Incitatus is bordered by mosaics in front of the oak branches Original art nouveau illustration of a messenger pigeon named Cher Ami injured while carrying a message. He flies over red poppies again a subtle sunburst and blue background

Attached to the skin of the tongue, sits a monstrous feminine figure with a mouth in place of a stomach and hips. She has one hand reached upwards, coming through slimy, green hair. There is a hand in a pool of blood behind the chest and gold coins on the floor around her. A mixed media piece involving coloured pencils, ink and digital art. It shows a dark-skinned witch laying in bed, reading from a large tome. She has a big red hat with gold embellishments and jewellery to match. Around her are four opaque cats in various different colours: one curled up next to her, one attempting to climb on the bed, one scratching the wall behind her and the final one's tail is just visible on the edge of the page. A graphic made with one of my sticker designs. The image is the face of my character, Pill Bug - a cartoon character wearing a nurse's cap with a full fringe and droopy elf ears. Her left eye has been split in two and all her pupils have been replaced by pills. She is sticking her tongue out. The background is pastel colours, scribbled over an edited photograph with bees cut out in a pattern. A graphic made with one of my sticker designs. The image is of a syringe filled with pink earthworms. The background has a splattering of colours with a grid pattern over it.

Crashing out while looking for a local printer to get some quick samples done, finding one that has decent reviews and actually has prices on the website and even a way to order online, only to find out they don’t accept landscape orientation on their website for some dog forsaken reason

IT IS COMPLETE

60+ hours in and my dragon and rose repeating pattern is finally finished! I put it in the three traditional toille de jouy colors: blue, red, and black. I think the black is my favorite, but what are yours?

Dark Vibrations - Inktober 2022 black and white ink illustration. Plain rolling hills lead to the door of a building with a large central spire and a small covered porch. To the left side of the building is a three facet bay windows and the other windows have ornate stained glass. On top of the central spire is a lighting conductor in the shape of a 5 point star. In the highest window of the spire is stain glass in the shape of an eye. Converging at the start is a large vortex spiraling and expanding through the whole sky. The vortex is pulling party’s of the building up towards it and cracking parts of the wood and foundation. The vortex is casting light and highlights on the building and the tress behind it. Converging towards the building is a circle of 12 white bird silhouettes. Black and white illustration representing Persephone during the autumn equinox. A frame surrounds the whole thing split in half in black and white. The middle horizontal section is torn in half like a piece of paper representing the division between the above and the underworld. In the bottom right corner are wispy swirling smoke lines going towards the centre with 3 bats flying from right to left. In the bottom left is the symbol for Persephone. In the middle are two pomegranates one whole and one cut in half. In the top half on a black background is a bee in reference to Persephone’s name as “honeyed one” on a circular medallion with narcissus flowers dropping petals around it. In the top left is the Greek word for Persephone Altar prayer card for the goddess Diana. A rectangular card has a black border with parts of the Orphic hymn for Diana surrounding it as a border in white text. In the bottom right are twin arrows over a crescent moon representing her and Apollo. In the bottom left and top right are white outlined 8 point stars. Inside the border is a marble shockwave black and grey pattern with white outlining that forms an arch at the top with lining to look like columns on both sides. In the middle is a stag skull with painted antlers of a diamond and star pattern. Behind the skull are smaller 8 point stars and cloud ripples. Above the skull is a scraggly branch of queen Anne’s lace with small dots above. In the top corners are two constellations for Sirius as her hunting dogs and Roman numerals for 13 and 8 for the date of the Nemoralia festival. Black and white ink illustration of a church surrounded by ominous lightning and dark clouds. A small steeple church with steps leading up to a white door is in front of a large black cloud with glowing lightning cutting through. On either side are fluffy bushes with small white flowers.
