This Magic Jukebox plays music, anime, visual novels, JRPGs and sometimes has some Belgian references.
Still living in the world's most successful failed state 😅
If you ever had a question about if there's any Nintendo employees checking wat is coming on the eShop, the awnser is clearly NO! Because any human would recognize Oda's artstyle being clearly butchered here.
Like, if there's ever a game to submit to Shueisha's lawyers for DMCA - THIS IS IT! 😶

He made an indie movie with this character... WITH COOLIO! WHAT EVEN IS THIS?!!!

So yeah, tl;dr in 2008 Ravedactyl's IP holders sued Konami and everyone else involved in the making of Air Neos for copyright infringement. Konami & co were sued for 70 million dollars (+ attorney fees)!

And having a seperate label instead of just a line of plain text makes it stand out more. Especially the "ABC" icon draws your attention.🤔
The joke is that one would assume that people know some reading skills if they pick up a game rated Teen or Mature, especially if it's a visual novel.

The trend is... ALL of the examples are for the Switch. The PS4 version of Tsukihime (for example) does not have this warning.
And all examples that I found from consoles other than the Switch are also Nintendo-based (e.g. GBA, DS, Wii, 3DS).
So this appears to be a Nintendo-specific label. 🤔

Next question: Is this specific to the Tsukihime visual novel? 🤔
Answer: No. My copy of the Great Ace Attorney VN is the US version and has the same label.
Looking on the internet, there's many examples of this label.
However, there IS a trend...

I've seen this meme float by a few times over the past months, and wanted to look into this... especially because I'm currently playing the Tsukihime visual novel on Switch.🤔
First question: is this fake? Answer: No, it's real. It's an actual label of notice on the rear of the box art.

After being stuck in Belgian customs for over a month, my last order of 2024 (from Play-Asia) has finally arrived.
Finally the proud owner of Tsukihime 😎, but also Ookami, Chrono Cross, Card-en-Ciel, Lunaria and planetarian.

The loops and combos started going so crazy I was able to beat the Sword and Shield duo on the Heart map WITHOUT taking damage. Has never happened in the 200+hours I've played this game.
Also happy to see the Lizard tail drop from them, but I didn't even need it against the Heart. That crazy run 😅

Getting back into Slay the Spire. And achieving that rare victory against the Heart? That's still releasing some endorphins, man...😆
Especially after barly surviving in that first map, even using up a Fairy bottle.😅

Wishlist for 2025:
- Professor Layton and the New World of Steam (long-time fan. Glad to see the series revived)
- Pokemon Legends: Z-A: If it's anything like the first one, yes!
- Slay the Spire 2: YES!
- Coffee Talk Tokyo. Interesting to see this spin-off. 🤔

#20: Peglin. A roguelite (yes, here we are again) mixed this time with... Pachinko. Interesting mix that elevates this more than it needs to be. Interesting for a while, but quickly loses steam after you've seen most of it. The Pachinko aspect makes it original, but is its primary downfall. 🤔😅

#19: Konosuba: Love for these Clothes of Desire!
As a big KonoSuba fan, I had to give this game a try.
It sure is a game! It is elevated by the top-tier voice acting of the cast. But even that can't save an otherwise mediocre story. All I can say is I'm glad it gave us this visual.

#18: Trombone Champ
As a music player myself (the trumpet - the coward's trombone 😂) I had to try my hands on the legendarily funny Trombone simulation game. It is an unadulterated fun party game. No questions asked - just goofy fun! 🎵

#17: Max Gentlemen Sexy Business!
I rarely talk about nsfw games for a reason (not an nsfw account). But I did want a special mention for this, as it just radiates sex positivity and it's a downright silly town simulator game. Heck, there's no sex scenes, just goofy people doing business weirdly! 😂

#16: 7 Days. Starts out as horror, but quickly turns into a dating sim with mystery elements. Kind of surprised me (in a bad way), but still got interested in the 7 days for each girl before they're gone aspect. Only halfway through, so not higher ranked. Some parts are better than others though...😅

#15: Genshin Impact, the 2024 updates. Had a pretty good year in Genshin, not gonna lie. Navia became a mainstay, Xianyun dropped as well as Kazuha. And I got a pretty nifty team for Natlan that's both good in exploration as combat.
I ended up playing all year, which is rare for the game. So yeah 👍

#14: Dice and Fold: Released earlier this past year as a mix of Card battler and dice game. But in a way I found more enjoyable than Dicey Dungeon a few years ago. Less story, but more choices/freedom in a sense. I liked it!

#13: Persona 5 Tactica. There were times I had more fun with this game than with P3R. Probably my attachment to the P5 crew. This is a spinoff in the style of Persona Q, but with the style of Mario Vs Rabbidz. I liked it. The audience wasn't there though. You can pick it up for table scraps. Sad. 😢

#12: Stacklands. Recommended to me by a friend who knows I like card games. This one made by our Northern Neighbors, the Dutch. It's a survival game mixed with card battler mixed with Village simulation (and content manager). The story is minimal, but it got really addictive to play.

#11: I was a Teenage Exocolonist: Started playing this late december and still doing so. It's a mix of visual novel with card battler and a simulation game. This in a scifi setting. Multiple playthroughs are mandatory as plenty of characters die in the 1st run and you learn how to fix that later.🤔
January 6, 2025 at 6:18 PM
#10: Coffee Talk 1 & 2. Combining these two entries because I bought the double pack and played them after each other. Fun Bar simulator game with a really interesting story attached to them. The only downside is their short length. Can't wait for the third game that releases next year. 😍
January 6, 2025 at 6:16 PM
#9: Dorfromantik. One of the indie darlings from 2022. Finally got around to playing it, and it's really casual fun. It's like playing a more advanced version of Carcassonne.
Funny then to see an actual boardgame version of it at a boardgame meete this year. Kind of surprised me on that end. 😅

#8: Ace Attorney Investigations.
I played the collection. But the second game is miles better than the first title. AAI2 feels truly like a great entry in the franchise. But AAI1? Oh god, it varies between okay and downright boring. It's genuinely the worst in the franchise. Last case is just UGH. 😖
January 6, 2025 at 6:10 PM
#7: Persona 3 Reload: Sigh... It's a good Persona game. But going to this from P4 and P5 is such a downgrade, even with the remaster. Where P5 shoots its ammo from the first hours, P3 does so in the last hours. But you need to get there first, and that's a slog... God, this game can be boring...
