People deserve a right to recovery, but we need to get it right. This legislation is not the answer.
I'll keep working to support research & initiatives for those struggling with addiction, such as Dundee's new Vulnerable Access Clinic.

People deserve a right to recovery, but we need to get it right. This legislation is not the answer.

It would have put pressure on services, w/o increasing their capacity.
It didn't offer ways to tackle the causes of drug addiction: poverty, isolation, mental health service cuts.
It didn't address what we know works: safe consumption rooms, naloxone, Housing First principles.

Only last week, Future Economy Scotland told us that we need bold and continued investment in a just transition from fossil fuels. It seems both the Scottish and UK Governments are ignoring these calls...
