Haha. They are famous here for wintering and eating fermented berries. Then they smack windows. We birders put up fabric splashes or silhouettes to reduce the carnage.

Well, that pair nests every year right on that post put up by the city. So, they are used to people. Hmm, I have some pics of how it's set up. First is looking west. Second is from across the river looking north. So I was standing only about 20m west of the nest in first picture.

I was riding my bike today and drove by this beauty. I think it's a 1947, and my dad had one very much like it when he was a teenager, but his was not very fancy. His car was well-used, and I have a black and white photo of him with it from about 1955. I love that grill.

I had some trouble catching this bumblebee snacking on wild roses at the local community center. It was quite windy, and the branches were moving about. The first picture is the best but I added the others to show the challenge.

I saw one of the osprey again and caught a very nice picture. He or she was not too happy when I walked closer and showed off each time until they flew off.

Today, my mom and I went to sign the accession for her uncle's uniform and documents from 1918 at Olds, AB museum. Shown are Mom and the two staff today. We had a special tour, and my great-grandmother's stove was a major display piece. Plus, they had Mom's yearbook and photos of her sibs school.

The wind just blew in for thundershowers, and it rained seeds on me from the box elders!! Wow.
