I mean, I said that they are meaningless, and they are as an arbiter of What’s The Best in Culture or Pop Culture. But it is also pretty much the only way some artisans and technicians get respect and recognition. 
I wish our society would acknowledge the meaninglessness of awards and competition in the arts. Instead we put so much weight on it that I think many people don't understand that they are meaningless.

Creating habits/setting goals-
1) Movie a day* I used to watch & discuss films like it was my job. Then I became a single parent. I love film. I miss it.
2) Read 2 novels/books a month. Again, before I would read 2 novels a week. Since I also want to read more educational fare… this seems doable.

As a kid I looked like Mellisa Gilbert, as a teen Jennifer Connelly & Julia Roberts were the comparisons. Now those plus Juliette Binoche. Mostly I’m told I remind people of someone they loved- a cousin, roommate or childhood best friend. We change. We grow. I’m happy with me.
